About Synop
The operating system for every kilowatt behind the meter.
Synop started as the enterprise-grade platform for commercial EV fleets, and it still is. We integrate with vehicles, chargers, and utilities, using AI-based automation to maximize fleet uptime while minimizing energy costs across light, medium, and heavy-duty classes in North America and Europe. We're also the market leader in vehicle-to-grid (V2G).
Today the same software runs the whole site. We orchestrate batteries, solar, and gensets. We shave or boost load around the utility interconnect, and we form fully islanded microgrids where there is no utility at all. We bid flexibility into wholesale and demand-response markets, and we bring new load online in months instead of years. That load can be a robotaxi depot, a charging-as-a-service portfolio, or an AI compute cluster.
Mission and purpose
Mission
Accelerate the transition to electric commercial fleets by connecting vehicles, chargers and the grid through software.
Purpose
Improve the world by helping to decarbonize global transportation through electrification.
Four product lines, one platform
Everything between the vehicle and the grid.
Each product works alone. Together they share one data model, so a late route, a price spike, or a tripped breaker changes the plan everywhere at once.
- Fleet Charging
Vehicle management
Live telematics from every vehicle — state of charge, location, and duty cycle — so charging plans follow the routes, not the other way around.
- OEM telematics integrations
- Departure-ready SoC targets
- Range and route awareness
- Fleet Charging
Charging management
Hardware-agnostic control of every charger on site over OCPP, with smart scheduling that keeps power under the site limit and vehicles on time.
- OCPP 1.6 / 2.0.1, any hardware
- Load management under site caps
- Uptime monitoring and remote fixes
- DER Orchestration
Energy management
Orchestrates batteries, solar, and the grid connection as one system, shifting load out of peak tariffs and earning revenue from grid programs and V2G.
- BESS, solar, and microgrid control
- Tariff and wholesale optimization
- Demand response and V2G
- Fleet Charging
Payment management
Driver authentication, home-charging reimbursement, and billing for shared or public sites, all reconciled to the same session data.
- RFID and app authorization
- Home-charging reimbursement
- Session billing and reconciliation
Why it matters
Transportation is where decarbonization gets real.
- More CO2 emissions from diesel vs. electric buses in the U.S.
- 100%
- Of smog-forming pollutants attributed to transportation in the U.S.
- 80%
- Of greenhouse gas emissions attributed to transportation in the U.S.
- 27%
